[Gift] For Shon

A dear friend of mine is having a grand celebration this weekend:
her and her husband's birthday and their wedding anniversary - such a lovely couple.
May God bless you as you continue to enjoy your journey together.

I gave her a leather bracelet with a focal piece that I modified by adding color using PC.
The handmade card was made using Cuttlebug embossing folders, Hero Arts cupcake stamps and
Stampendous Birthday sentiment.

Have fun!

[Cards] Twice Embossed Card

I wanted to take my mind off from working with clay and decided to make  card.
There were a couple of Sizzix folders on my table and this particular one was given to me last Christmas.
It had a floral motif - perfect for my mom in Manila who I miss so much.  I used my Tombow ABT markers and finally embossed it with clear powder.

I love the different embossed textures of the card.
Hope to get into the groove of making special handmade cards again.
Happy crafting!

Tanjoubi Omedetou [Happy Birthday in Japanese]

Have you seen this clear stamp set from HeroArts?  It's so cute!

One of our famly members is celebrating her birthday so I decided to use the stamps for her card.

I stamped the Japanese girl on white cardstock and the robe on a green patterned origami paper using Versafine ink.  I added a green bling-bling on her hair.
The paper lamp was stamped in white cardstock and colored using Tombo ABT markers.  I added embroidery floss for on the top and bottom of the lamp.
The sentiment is from HeroArts too.

I layered these elements on a designer paper and then on an off-white cardstock that was distressed with Ranger's bundled sage.

Have a great week of crafting!

Enjoy!

"Thank You" [Cards for California]

My 2 weeks of sunny, cool, California weather is over and I am back in Chicago's winter wonderland!  I had a great time in San Jose and San Diego, particularly babysitting my 18 month old nephew.

I was also able to meet our former Pastor in Manila and his family, my good friend and colleague, and other relatives and friends.

In appreciation for all their kindness and generosity, I made "Thank You" cards today.

I used Inkadinkado's "Thank You Clear Stamp" 39-252868.

I stamped it using Versafine in Black Onyx and colored using Tombo ABT markers.
I matted the stamped images on olive green and blue cardstock and then added them to the DCWV background paper from their "The Green Stack" collection.  Finally, I used dark blue and yellow cardbase.

It's great to be home, making cards again for all the wonderful people in my life.
These will all be mailed tomorrow.

Happy Tuesday!

HA World Cardmaking Day, 10-3-10

I never thought that there was such a thing as World Cardmaking Day.  I found out through the Hero Arts blog and of course, i wanted to participate.  So, with only a few hours left, i grabbed some stamps and made a card.
I have been busy crocheting hats and jewelry for the past weeks so my stamps and stuffs have been on the shelf for quite some time.
I thought it would be nice to incorporate sewing in my theme - hence, the "You're sew Special" card, embellised with buttons that i find really cute!
Thanks for taking a peek.   Have a great week!

DeNami Design Product Challenge #3: Glitter

Hello friends!
I mentioned in my previous blog that i bought new stamps from DeNami Designs.  I super love the stamps because they are so pretty and dainty.  For the first time, i checked out the website and voila!  They have a product challenge using Glitter!  I said to myself, "This is my day to craft!"  So, with my craft juices flowing, i got to work and made cards!
This is my very first card using DeNami Design stamps (red cardstock with orange scallop and flower):
I used a red cardstock and placed an embossed yellow cardstock.  I stamped DeNami Designs' Vine stamp and used Sakura quickie glue pen to the vine and added Sparklets extra fine white glitter.  I then stamped the DeNami Design scalloped flower using Memento Rich cocoa ink and colored with my Tombow ABT markers and added extra fine sparklets in white.  I cut the paper using Fiskar's 2" scallop punch and colored it orange.  I placed an orange ribbon and for the sentiment, i used the vine stamp and stamped "Thinking of You" in black and embossed it.  There you have it... my first card using DeNami Design stamps.  Cuteness!
Thanks for looking.  Happy crafting!  Blessings!
