Serenity Statement Necklace
Faux Stone Polymer Clay
There is a feeling of peace and calm whenever I do something that is far beyond what my day at the office is.  I like spending time at home and being creative.  This challenge was a long process that took about 3 weeks of my free time to finish.
I love making cabochons from polymer clay so I made 3 teardrops using the Rocky Path technique that I have shared in this blog a couple of times.  Doesn't it look like stones?

Polymer clay cabochon:   Rocky Path Technique
Faux Stone
The embroidery took about 4 nights to finish and that includes sewing and unsewing the beads. LOL.  I am happy with how it turned out but I think I will add a picot beads on the border... perhaps I will write a post blog article on that.

In the meantime, let's head over to The Studio Sublime and see more beautiful pieces.

The back of your cabs is just as beautiful as the front, and yes, it does look like a stone! I used the term "ripped out and started over" - I prefer your term "unsewing"! Beautiful job!

I can't believe those are polymer cabs! When I first saw them I thought they were vintage glass pieces. Love how you joined them together.

Great attention to detail with the back of the cabs. I love the shape with the trio of cabs. Instead of ripping out beads I'd be ripping out my hair!

Your clay does look like stone, it's beautiful! I love what you did. I'm so curious, did you attach them altogether on the backing, or after you stitched them all?

I love the grouping together of the three cabs, it is stunning!

I love the cabochons you made. I'm not familiar with the technique. It looks like fun.

I am so impressed that you not only beaded the bezels to create a necklace but that you created the beautiful teardrop cabochons, too. *lovely work*

Oh I think it looks beautiful just the way it is - without the piquots. How wonderful that you made the cabs and you are right - they DO look like stones. Just love the color! They looks like lovely teardrops.

Just beautiful...I love those faux stones, and your neccklace screams "look at me"... You also made me smile with your 'unsewing'...I get it, it's the price we pay for artistic perfection.;0

First off, gorgeous poly clay cabs!! I love the faux stone technique. Just starting to dabble in this medium and I'm in awe of your technique. The beaded bezels are a perfect setting for your work.

Hi Michelle,
Wow your cabs look like real stone for sure as a matter of fack they look similar to Larsonite. Beautiful work and beautiful pendant. I think the picot edging would be a wonderfl accent to your pendant.

I loved the shape and colors of this piece when I saw the tiny image of it on my blog. After reading the story and learning how busy you are I admire it even more.

Michelle! Your cabochons are FANTASTIC! WOW! The detail on the back of the cabs is wonderful and the front, they look like an exotic stone! Fabulous beadweaving! I'm like you, when I get home from work being creative is the best way to unwind! Thank you so much for participating in the challenge!

Michelle-I love what you did with polymer clay. Putting the 3 cabs together created a beautiful focal. Your beading is wonderful. Congrats on winning with the necklace. I can see why! Well done!
